Emergency unblocking in Belgium

A blockage never gives notice. A toilet overflowing in the middle of the night, a sewer backing up into the cellar on a Sunday, a sink completely blocked the evening before a party: these cannot wait until Monday morning. One call is all it takes to start the job, handled as a priority.

Our approach

An emergency handled methodically

Moving fast does not mean cutting corners. Even under pressure we follow the same complete approach, so the cause is properly dealt with.

  1. 01

    Priority call

We size up the situation on the phone, ask exactly what is overflowing or backing up, and schedule the job as a priority, with a time given honestly.

  2. 02

    Rapid diagnosis

On site we locate the blockage quickly and establish whether it sits nearby or further along the network. That points straight to the right method.

  3. 03

    Targeted clearing

Mechanical clearing, a professional auger or high-pressure jetting depending on the cause: we pick the technique that clears it without damaging your installation.

  4. 04

    Check and advice

We test the flow, check the neighbouring outlets on the network and tell you straight whether a follow-up camera check would prevent the next emergency.

Availability

Reachable when everyone else has closed

A blockage often strikes outside office hours: the evening after work, the night, the weekend. That is why our emergency line answers at those times too: when you call at an unsociable hour, you get a real answer.

We work in Brussels, Flanders and Wallonia, except the province of Luxembourg. Arrival time depends on the area and availability, but we never leave you guessing: from the call, you know when we can come, and if a night or weekend supplement applies, you are told before we set off.

That transparency also covers what we cannot speed up: we would rather give you an honest estimate than a promise we cannot keep. That way you stay in control of your decision, even in a stressful moment.

What counts as an emergency

Some blockages cannot wait

Not every slow drain is an emergency, but some situations clearly are. When a home has only one toilet and it blocks, daily life stops dead. When water rises instead of draining, or a sewer backs up towards the cellar, every hour of waiting raises the risk of water damage and of a genuine hygiene problem.

Emergencies tend to arrive at the worst moment: a weekend with guests, the evening before a public holiday, or in the middle of the night when no ordinary service can be reached. That is exactly when an emergency line makes the difference.

Faced with an emergency, the right reflex is not to pile on chemical products or to start dismantling things in a panic. It is to call early: the sooner the job is done, the simpler it is, the less it costs and the less mess it leaves behind.

Warning signs

The situations to deal with straight away

If you recognise one of these, it is an emergency rather than an inconvenience. Better to call right away.

  • The home's only toilet is completely blocked or overflowing.
  • Water rises in the shower or the sink when you flush.
  • A sewer pushes waste water back towards the cellar or ground floor.
  • A drain smell suddenly fills the whole house.
  • Standing water threatens to spill onto the floor with every use.
  • The blockage happens at night, at a weekend or on a public holiday.

Until we arrive

What to do while you wait for us

A few simple steps limit the damage and speed up the visit. Most important: do not make things worse with aggressive products.

  1. 01

Shut the water off if it overflows

Close the supply valve for the outlet concerned to stop any overflow while you wait.

  2. 02

    Stop using the outlet

Stop using the blocked toilet, sink or shower: every extra use makes the backflow worse.

  3. 03

    No chemical drain cleaner

Aggressive products rarely dissolve a real blockage, they damage your pipework and they make our job harder.

  4. 04

    Clear the access

Mop up the standing water and free the space around the outlet so the technician can work fast.

Transparent pricing

What determines the price

Our call-outs start from €63.60 incl. VAT (6 % for homes over 10 years old, otherwise 21 %).

An emergency should not mean a nasty surprise. The price depends on the nature of the blockage, where it sits and the method required. A call-out at night, at a weekend or on a public holiday may carry a supplement, but we tell you about it clearly before we set off.

You get an estimate before we begin, and we only close the job once the flow is fully restored. Call us: we answer price questions directly, even in the middle of the night.

How much does emergency unblocking cost?

Our call-outs start from €63.60 incl. VAT (6 % for homes over 10 years old, otherwise 21 %). The price depends on the nature of the blockage, where it sits and the method required.

How fast do you come out for an emergency?

Timing depends on the area and availability. We treat emergencies as a priority and from the call we give you a realistic estimate of the arrival time, not an empty promise. You know where you stand before the technician even sets off.

Do you really come out at night, at weekends and on public holidays?

Yes, our emergency line answers at night, on Sundays and on public holidays too. If a night or weekend supplement applies, we tell you before we set off.

What can I do while I wait for you?

Stop using the blocked outlet, shut off the water supply to it if it is overflowing, mop up the standing water and clear the access. Above all, do not pour in a chemical drain cleaner: it rarely dissolves a real blockage, it damages pipework and it makes the job more dangerous.

Does an emergency cost a lot more?

A call-out at night, at a weekend or on a public holiday may carry a supplement, which we announce before we set off, never afterwards. The base price depends mostly on the nature of the blockage and the method required. And calling early almost always costs less: a blockage dealt with quickly is simpler to clear than an established backflow.

Can an emergency turn into a bigger repair?

Sometimes. If the blockage returns, or the origin is structural (roots, a reverse gradient, a collapsed pipe) we tell you straight and propose a camera check rather than another call-out. Emergency clearing restores the flow; the diagnosis prevents the next emergency.

When should you call a drain technician straight away?

Some signs mean the blockage is no longer local: waste water backing up into a shower, sink or toilet, several fixtures draining slowly at the same time, water rising from a yard gully, or a sewer smell that lingers despite ventilation. In those cases, avoid reaching for chemical drain cleaners again and again: they attack seals and pipework without reaching a blockage further down the run.
